Velez Sarsfield president Sergio Rapizarda has confirmed they rejected an offer from Manchester City for Maximo Perrone.

City were previously reported to be close to completing a move for Perrone. But Rapizarda insists they have rejected the offer. And revealed that the famous team from England tried to persuade the players, as they did with Benjamin Carre in 2016.

Rapisarda has also referred back to previous negotiations with City involving the sale of Benjamin Garre in 2016, in which Velez complained that the English club were attempting to persuade the midfielder – who now plies his trade on loan at Huracan from Racing Club – to sign before the age of 16.
